Father's Day BBQ

Mom's turkey burger (we also had beef and some enjoyed portobello mushroom in their burger bun)... delicious...

and a vegan chocolate cake... this was super awesome...

wow fries are cheaper than a glass bottle of coke... I don't drink coke on regular basis... but sometimes I just can't resist coke in a glass bottle...

so at the wedding Jay and I were enjoying some shade, and the paparazzi show... Kinga came over to chat... and then at one point she says "Lucy you were bit by a black fly, you're bleeing."... I was so freaked out, I didn't feel it biting me... I touched my neck and there was just so much blood... yuck... Jay started to laugh and snap pictures... he was no help...like a vampire with only one fang... yuck I didn't notice till the next day when I was putting it away... the blood on the beads of my earring... and that's why my idea of camping is a hotel room... I am too delicious for wildlife...

for Lisa's wedding...

I decided on this dress... it was light and breezy... and it broke my hemline rule... it felt short, I did the "ooops I dropped my keys test.", yup short... it felt even shorter once I got my heels on... but I think it's so pretty... and I made sure I didn't drop anything all night :)

Friday , June 18, 2010: Lisa's and Rob's Wedding Day

The day was absolutely gorgeous... gorgeous weather... gorgeous venue... gorgeous blissfully happy couple... it was a hot day... the ceremony was outside... we sat on the sunny side, so Jay took of his jacket and I hanged it on the back of my chair... I slipped my extra camera lens in the inside pocket... after the ceremony Jay took it out and we found a passenger...
while the bridal party enjoyed their paparazzi session... we partook in some refreshments... all I took was one sip before someone committed suicide in my vodka and soda....
then it was dinner time...
of course the first order of business was a champagne toast...
excellent red choice...
and a delicious white...
the bread was toasty warm... soft... and delicious...
for a start a red pepper soup...
but since it had cream... I enjoyed a delicious gazpacho...
then a Caesar salad...
and for me mixed greens with balsamic dressing...
then roast beef, with roasted potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, and mixed beans...
for me a vegan mixed plate...
for dessert creme brulee...
for me a champagne glass full of mixed berries...
and the wedding cake...
the day was wonderful... lots of dancing... the speeches were very funny and entertaining...

that Jay has perfected the breakfast fry-up... pictured: kale, purple potato, portobello mushroom, and pappadew peppers mix... so delicious...

hair removal...

So I'm a girl, who loves to be smooth, but I hate shaving, there's a box of band aids on stand by at all times whenever I do... and it's well used. I hate waxing because of the waiting period in between, and I can't afford laser at this time.... So after extensive research I decided to acquire an epilator... Once I've made my purchase, I decided to give it a go that day... and for my first try I decided to prep an hour before with a glass of wine and a couple of Advil... maybe it wasn't a wise choice but I was a bit apprehensive of the pain.and here is the tool... charged in an hour... look at all those attachments, two for legs, one for bikini and underarms, one for face, and a trimmer/shaver... I don't see myself putting this anywhere near my face...

on a side note for the past couple of months I've been using a moisturizer made by Nivea which was supposed to give my legs a nice light summer tan without the actual sun.... while it smells delicious, I don't think it's working....
30min later... looking a bit raw (like I've been feasted on by tiny bugs) ... but success... smooth legs...
It hurt like a bitch... but that's because I did it all at once. Maintenance is a lot less painful (I do it everyday or every other... depending on my mood), and I can do it while watching tv... distraction is welcome... I really like this new gadget, money well spent.

June 12: Lisa's Bachelorette Party

was celebrated with bottle service on a rooftop patio at Ultra Supper Club... the weather held :)... it was awesome. I haven't been to a club since the late 1990's, and I was a totally different person then. The bride to be, requested that the girls wear all white... lol... talk about stress. Jay and I went shopping and with combined effort came up with this getup... I'm over 30, hem just above the knee is my miniskirt (give or take an inch), the fish is purple, so I had to have it... and I decided on a little colorful bolero jacket, just in case I got chilly. Nice, tame, and covered up... that's my style... and I'm pretty sure I can get at least one more wear from this dress to Emily's christening (I'll change up my accessories)... we'll see, white might not be a wise choice in August...

11 girls all in white... on white couches... we looked like a cloud or a gaggle of geese :), people couldn't stop staring... but I think it was mostly due to the shanty (I call them spankies) wearing bride to be :)...

coffee with soy milk...for me a grilled tomato and portobello mushroom sandwich... with a side of fries... should have had some greens...
for Jay a caramelized onion and Feta cheese omelet with home fries, spicy Italian sausage (which Jay said wasn't spicy), and a side of multigrain toast
yum... I do love this place...

it has a nice blueberry smell, but not a very blueberry flavor... which is nice... refreshing...
